The papers on Sunday 11 October are focused on the change of pace in Allegri's Napoli since the international break, a day after the 3-0 win over Frosinone.

Corriere dello Sport's headline reads "Allegri cambia il Napoli: la qualità paga alla ripresa" ("Allegri changes Napoli: quality pays off after the break"), tying the win to the attacking choices made since the restart.

The build-up to the game told a different story to what unfolded. Sky Sport's pre-match team-news report had suggested Allegri might switch to a three-man defence. On the pitch, he lined up with a back four instead, with Milinković-Savić starting in goal in place of Meret.

Several players spoke to DAZN after the game. Lang said: "Conte non mi parlava, Allegri mi dice cosa fare e ho fiducia" ("Conte didn't talk to me, Allegri tells me what to do and I trust him").

Allegri himself defended his team's approach to DAZN: "Vogliamo ribaltare le critiche, McTominay può giocare" ("We want to turn the criticism around, McTominay can play").

Sky Sport gathered two further reactions. Badiashile said he was "contento per i 90 minuti e per la vittoria" ("happy with the 90 minutes and with the win"), citing "fiducia di Allegri" ("Allegri's trust"). Lang, also speaking to Sky, said he had "azzerato tutto" ("reset everything") ahead of what he expects to be "una grande stagione" ("a great season").

Frosinone coach Alvini, speaking to DAZN, called the penalty awarded against his side "morbido" ("soft") but acknowledged that "il Napoli ha meritato la vittoria" ("Napoli deserved the win"), while still finding the final score too wide.

Away from the pitch, Il Mattino reports the seizure of more than 2,300 counterfeit SSC Napoli shirts, with one person reported to police.

Our take

The papers capture the change of pace since the break well, but none dwell on how far the actual line-up strayed from the pre-match reports — a sign of how late Allegri makes his calls, not just a footnote. Lang's line about Conte deserves more than a passing mention among the quotes: it points to a change of mood in the dressing room, not just of system. And on the penalty Alvini called "soft": Napoli had 18 shots and 6 corners, so the scoreline did not hinge on one moment — it reflected a clear dominance worth remembering.
