Anguissa races to be fit for Villarreal trip
The midfielder has not played since the draw in Florence, sidelined by a low-grade strain in his right adductor, and will be assessed day by day with Tuesday's game in Spain the first realistic target.

Frank Anguissa is working to be ready for Allegri in time for Napoli's Champions League trip to Villarreal on Tuesday 13 October, the second matchday of the league phase. The midfielder has not played since the draw in Florence, sidelined by a low-grade myofascial strain of the adductor longus in his right thigh. Three weeks out have already passed, and current indications suggest that may be enough for him to recover. If the Estadio de la Cerámica comes too soon, the second window is Napoli's home game against Venezia on Saturday 17 October.
The timing matters more than usual. From Saturday 10 October's game against Frosinone to 8 November, Napoli play nine matches in a month, one every three days, and of the six players sidelined, Anguissa is the only one with a real chance of being back in time for Spain. With the midfield already down to Gilmour and Lobotka — McTominay is being managed with Villarreal in mind — every extra option counts for Allegri.
