Giuffredi: I've turned down boatloads of money to sell Napoli players

Mario Giuffredi, the agent of several Napoli players, pushed back against criticism of the club following its stuttering start to the season, speaking on Radio Napoli Centrale's Un Calcio alla Radio. "There are a lot of people who pretend to want what's good for Napoli, but one defeat is enough to see the vicious, all-out attacks," he said, pointing to more than ten years of history with the club and recalling that he had backed the board in the Mario Rui case.

"I've turned down boatloads of money to move Napoli players elsewhere."

He drew a line between legitimate criticism and insinuations about "strange games" being played behind the scenes.

Giuffredi also defended Allegri, under pressure after defeats to Como, Inter and Arsenal that have left Napoli 12th in Serie A with three points from three games. "Let's go easy on Allegri and the team," he said, adding: "If we don't win against Bologna and Fiorentina, then some concern could start to show."
