Gutiérrez's price doubles at Bayer Leverkusen as Napoli watch on
Sold for around €26m in the summer, the Spanish full-back has been decisive for his new club, who already value him at €50-60m.

Napoli let Miguel Gutiérrez go for around €26m, and just days after the move his price tag has already doubled. The full-back has settled in immediately at Bayer Leverkusen, proving decisive in key games against Leipzig and Union Berlin, where he set up two goals in the same match.
His qualities were known at Castel Volturno (Napoli's training ground) too, but he never found the same space in blue. The German club now consider him untouchable and have set his price between €50m and €60m, a figure that makes a return to Serie A unrealistic for anyone, including the Italian clubs still watching him.
It is another regret on an already long list. The squad Giovanni Manna built over the summer is struggling for results, and with Badiashile and Lucca still on zero contributions this season, the Gutiérrez deal looks like another bet lost before it was even weighed up.
