Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had a night to forget with Georgia. In the Nations League Group B match against Northern Ireland, goalless at half-time, the former Napoli winger had the chance to break the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 65th minute but missed. In the 99th minute, a goal from Charles condemned Georgia to a 1-0 defeat.
For Kvaratskhelia, who has just joined Paris Saint-Germain, the night also ended with a yellow card for unsporting conduct. Only two days earlier, in an interview, he had recalled his move to Napoli as the defining moment of his career — a chapter now behind him, as this new stretch with his national team opens with a setback.
