Lobotka plays full 90 minutes as Slovakia beat Moldova 2-0
The midfielder ran Slovakia's midfield in the Nations League win, while at Napoli his contract talks stay stalled and the department is stretched thin by injuries to Anguissa and McTominay.
Stanislav Lobotka started and played all 90 minutes as Slovakia beat Moldova 2-0 in their opening Nations League Group C match. Head coach Vladimir Weiss used him at the base of a 4-3-3, between Suslov and Duda, in front of a back line of Skriniar, Hancko and Obert (the Cagliari defender), with Greif in goal.
At Napoli, Lobotka's contract, which runs until 30 June 2027, remains stuck, just like McTominay's. With the midfield ranks thin during the international break, Anguissa is out with a recurrence of his right adductor injury, while McTominay is still on an individual programme following heart surgery on 9 September. Lobotka, one of the few certainties in midfield when Napoli regroup at Castel Volturno (the club's training ground), will link back up with Allegri ahead of Napoli-Frosinone on Saturday 10 October at the Maradona.
