Lucca pushes for first league start against Venezia
Four days after the 3-1 win at Villarreal, Allegri is weighing changes for Saturday's trip to the Penzo, with Meret, Lobotka and Spinazzola set to return.
Lorenzo Lucca could get his first Serie A start of the season away to Venezia on Saturday 17 October, with Luciano Allegri weighing rotation after Monday's 3-1 Champions League win at Villarreal. Napoli face Bodø/Glimt on Tuesday 20 October and Roma on Saturday 24 October, both at the Maradona, so the head coach is managing a packed schedule.
Meret is set to return in goal, with Lobotka back in midfield and Spinazzola at left-back. Højlund and Kevin De Bruyne, who both started at Villarreal, could be rested. Anguissa, Olivera and Alisson Santos returned to full training on Wednesday 14 October, giving Allegri more options once they are fully fit.
Venezia go into the game without a head coach after sacking Giovanni Stroppa following six games without a win, and are choosing between Paolo Zanetti and Davide Nicola as his replacement. Napoli sit eighth on 10 points after six rounds and will look to put the Champions League disappointment behind them with a result that matters in Serie A.
