McTominay faces fitness test ahead of Frosinone
The Scotland midfielder undergoes the decisive medical on Wednesday 7 October after his 8 September heart operation, with Castel Volturno cautiously optimistic he could be cleared.

Scott McTominay undergoes the medical on Wednesday 7 October that will decide his return to full training. The midfielder had surgery in Manchester on 8 September to correct a benign cardiac arrhythmia, and has spent the weeks since in personalised gym and pitch work, training with the group a few times but avoiding contact, small-sided games and tactical drills.
Castel Volturno (the training ground) is cautiously optimistic. If McTominay passes the test, he could be named among the substitutes for Napoli-Frosinone on Saturday, though he would start on the bench given how little group training he has done in almost a month out.
His contract situation remains unresolved: McTominay is asking for around €9m a season, above what president De Laurentiis is willing to pay, with his value set at €70m and Real Madrid, managed by Mourinho, watching. Napoli host Frosinone on Saturday at 20:45 CET at the Maradona, ninth in Serie A on 7 points after 5 games, looking for consistency after drawing in Florence.
