Napoli could go into a training retreat before Bodø/Glimt
The 3-1 loss at Villarreal has the club weighing a lockdown of the squad, with Saturday's result at Venezia set to decide it.

Napoli are considering a ritiro — a closed training retreat — that would keep the squad together until the Champions League game against Bodø/Glimt on Tuesday 20 October at 21:00 at the Maradona. The decision hinges on Saturday's trip to Venezia: if the results do not come at the Penzo, the lockdown would begin straight after the match.
Allegri was unhappy with the performance at Villarreal and pointed to the errors that let Mikautadze equalise and then let Mouriño put the hosts ahead, before Oluwaseyi made it 3-1. He expects an immediate response from a side that has lost two European games running, against Arsenal and Villarreal, and sits on zero points in the Champions League league phase.

In Serie A, Napoli are eighth on 10 points after 6 games (3 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats, 10-6 on goals), form that is already unpopular at Fuorigrotta — the club's home turf. A forced retreat before Bodø/Glimt would read as an alarm bell, not a return to calm. Everything will be decided at 15:00 on Saturday at the Penzo, against Venezia's new coach Davide Nicola.
