Napoli eye a return for Caprile as his price rises to €20m-25m

Sold to Cagliari for around €8m in summer 2025, the goalkeeper has tripled his value and Napoli are watching ahead of summer 2027.

Elia Caprile is back on Napoli's radar for summer 2027. The goalkeeper, sold outright to Cagliari in summer 2025 for around €8m, has seen his value triple: the Sardinian club now rate him at €20m-25m.

In a Cagliari shirt, the keeper, born in 2001, has started the season at a high level, conceding just two goals in his opening matches. His contract runs to 30 June 2029, but no renewal talks are under way — by the end of the season he would enter the last two years of that deal, the ideal moment for a buyer to move before the price climbs further. Milan and Inter are also on the case.

Napoli may have an edge over their Milan rivals, helped by their relationship with Cagliari and by the idea that Caprile himself would prefer a return to Napoli. The issue touches a goalkeeping position still to be settled: Meret's contract expires in June 2027 with no formal renewal talks under way, while Milinkovic-Savic was the man Allegri picked to start in the last game against Frosinone.
