Napoli full-back Favasuli sent home from Italy Under-21 camp
Costantino Favasuli was ruled out after a medical assessment at Tirrenia and has returned to Naples, eight days before Napoli host Frosinone.

Costantino Favasuli has left the Italy Under-21 camp run by Silvio Baldini. The federation's official statement is clear: the Napoli full-back and Torino's Niccolò Fortini, "having undergone medical assessment, were considered unavailable" and returned to their clubs in the afternoon.
The Under-21s had just got back to their Tirrenia base from Armenia, where a stoppage-time goal from Cisse had decided the game. Two days of work lay ahead before Italy face Poland on Monday at the Stadio Adriatico in Pescara, kick-off 18:15 CET (17:15 UK) — the final and decisive qualifier, with the group win needed to book a direct place at the European Championship. Even finishing second would leave the Under-21s with a good chance of reaching Albania and Serbia 2027 as the best runner-up across all groups. In the afternoon, Baldini split the squad into separate groups and gave the team a recovery session of gym work and treatment, before preparation for Pescara resumes.

Favasuli is back at Castel Volturno, Napoli's training ground, where Massimiliano Allegri's defence is already short-handed: Alessandro Buongiorno is not expected back before 2027, and Sam Beukema has played zero minutes across five league games. Earlier the same day, discussing the full-back's past spell at Fiorentina, agent Eugenio Ascari had pointed to his case as one that stings more than Michael Kayode's — Favasuli's name was already back in the Napoli headlines within hours, this time for a different reason.
There are no further details yet on the type or extent of the problem that triggered the medical assessment. It will be up to Napoli's medical staff to determine if and when the full-back can return to full training, with the Frosinone game at the Maradona on 10 October the first date on the calendar to watch.
