Napoli held no talks with other coaches over Allegri's future
After Saturday 17 October's 1-0 loss at home to Venezia, Napoli's second defeat in a row, Arena Napoli clarifies that no alternative coach has ever been approached.

Arena Napoli understands that Aurelio De Laurentiis, sporting director Giovanni Manna and the club's other key figures have had no contact of any kind with other coaches — not during the last international break, not after the 3-1 defeat at Villarreal, not after Saturday's 1-0 loss to Venezia. The name that had circulated in recent weeks was Raffaele Palladino, now head coach of Bologna: as far as is known, he was never an option Napoli spoke to or opened talks with.
Timing is also part of the picture. Allegri arrived on 3 July on a contract through 30 June 2029, but the side sit ninth with 10 points after seven league games and have just suffered their fourth defeat in their first eight official matches — the worst start of the Spalletti and Conte eras. Bodø/Glimt visit the Maradona on Tuesday in the Champions League, with Napoli on 0 points after their games against Arsenal and Villarreal, and the fixtures to get back on track are starting to run short.
