Eight players at Napoli are now dealing with injury problems this season, after André-Frank Anguissa became the latest concern with a recurrence of his issue. Alessandro Buongiorno remains the longest-term absentee, out since the summer training camps and not expected back before the start of 2027, while Luca Marianucci has taken his first differentiated session on the pitch and is nearing a return to the group.

Scott McTominay is working in the gym after his cardiac ablation on 9 September and is close to returning, and Giovane was seen in partial training 27 days after surgery for a groin hernia. Anguissa, sidelined by a recurrence of a myofascial strain in his right adductor, is a doubt for Frosinone. Alex Meret is nearing full fitness, Leonardo Spinazzola has a good chance of being available again, and Alisson will miss both the Frosinone game and the Champions League trip to Villarreal — his return remains pencilled in for 17 October, against Venezia.

The toll helps explain Napoli's ninth place in Serie A, with 7 points from five games after a draw in Florence. Allegri must manage it from Saturday 10 October at the Maradona against Frosinone, the first of a month that also brings Champions League fixtures against Villarreal and Bodo/Glimt.
