Napoli Legends to walk with Pozzuoli quake evacuees on 26 October
A delegation of former Napoli players will lead a solidarity walk through the Campi Flegrei districts hit hardest by the 31 July earthquake, with a direct invitation to regional president Roberto Fico.

A delegation of former Napoli players, grouped under the Legends banner, will walk through Pozzuoli at 11:00 on 26 October. It is not a publicity appearance: the roughly two-and-a-half-kilometre route is a solidarity walk through the districts of the Campi Flegrei (the volcanic area west of Naples) worst hit by the earthquake of 31 July.
By September, more than four thousand people were displaced across the Campi Flegrei area. Families are sleeping away from home, uninhabitability orders keep piling up, and residents are still waiting to find out when they can return to their houses. Media attention has started to move on from the emergency, but for those living through it, nothing has changed.

The route
The Legends' route runs through the worst-affected points: from via Terracciano to via Campi Flegrei, via piazza Capomazza and via Artiaco. It is a symbolic walk designed to stand alongside the people still waiting for answers on those streets.
Not just solidarity
This is not simply a call for financial solidarity. The Region of Campania and its regional council have already released funds and contributions for autonomous housing arrangements (CAS), but the message coming from Pozzuoli asks for more than bureaucracy: fixed times and dates for returning home, not more vague promises.
The Legends' appeal is addressed to every authority involved — the Region led by Roberto Fico, the Comune, the Prefecture, the government and Civil Protection — and it is explicitly addressed to the regional president. He is invited to walk on 26 October shoulder to shoulder with the evacuees, to look in the eyes of those who have lost their homes.
It is not the first time the former Napoli players have chosen to get involved beyond the pitch: they previously did so at the Maradona for children from Nisida and the Santobono-Pausilipon hospital. This time, the stakes concern the future of an entire community, not a single vulnerable group.
Between now and 26 October, the Legends' question to the institutions remains the same: whether the response will be a concrete commitment, or whether this walk too will end up as an isolated gesture lost in silence.
