Napoli look at Union Saint-Gilloise's Zorgane as Anguissa successor
The midfielder born in 2000 is one of several options the board are weighing up. For now it is only a lead, and nothing moves until Anguissa's future is settled.

Adem Zorgane, the Union Saint-Gilloise midfielder born in 2000, is among the names Giovanni Manna's board are assessing as a replacement for Anguissa. Napoli's scouts like two things in particular: his vision and his ability to bring balance to the midfield. His age and the cost of a deal also fit the club's limits.
Everything starts with Anguissa, Napoli's number 99. His contract runs until June 2027 and talks on a renewal have stalled. Without an agreement, he could leave on a free transfer at the end of the season. His departure has not been decided yet, though, and the choice of replacement depends on how those talks end. Zorgane matches what Manna said on 21 October: the squad needs to get younger.

Planning ahead makes sense, but Napoli's problem is the present. The team are tenth, nine points off the top, and the transfer window does not reopen until 2 January. Roma visit the Maradona on Saturday 24 October at 18:00 CET (17:00 UK, 12:00 ET), and the midfield that has to respond is the one already in the squad.
