Napoli press moves on from Venice anger to Bodø/Glimt test
A day after the 1-0 loss at Venice, papers describe fan protests and lingering doubts over Allegri's selection, before almost all of them turn to Tuesday's Champions League visit of Bodø/Glimt.
One day after Napoli's 1-0 defeat at Venice, the Sunday papers return to the same anger that filled social media on Saturday 17 October: frustration over another lost game and head coach Allegri's choices. Nearly all of Sunday's editions circle that point before turning to Tuesday 20 October's Champions League visit of Bodø/Glimt.
Il Mattino opens with exactly that: a report on Napoli fans protesting as they left the away end at the Penzo, Venezia's stadium. The anger, the paper writes, was aimed squarely at Allegri.

Corriere dello Sport contrasts its own preview with what followed. Before kick-off it had announced a five-man rotation, with Lucca in for Højlund and De Bruyne rested. Afterwards it reports that club president Aurelio De Laurentiis was "surprised" by the line-up Allegri actually fielded, and that he is already demanding a different performance on Tuesday against Bodø/Glimt.
Il Mattino also puts Lucca and Giovane under scrutiny, both described beforehand as facing their "last call". Giovane himself had told DAZN before the match: "there's no time to complain after Tuesday."
DAZN also relays a small moment from the pitch: after De Bruyne missed a penalty, Lucca tried to console him with a pat on the shoulder, but "the Belgian walked straight past" without responding.
Allegri, speaking to DAZN too, chose to look ahead rather than back.
We have all the time to recover in the league, now we have to think about Tuesday's Champions League game.
His words came on the same day Il Mattino reported a fresh injury for Alisson Santos, who came off worse for wear after being brought on at the Penzo.
The last two pieces of the day converge on Bodø/Glimt. La Repubblica warns that Venice and Bodø/Glimt count as "two finals" for Napoli, while Corriere dello Sport notes that the Maradona is still not sold out for Tuesday's game.
Our view
Sunday's papers capture the fans' anger and the doubts over the line-up well, but all of them rush to turn the page towards Bodø/Glimt, as if Saturday's league defeat only mattered in relation to the Champions League. Corriere's own shift — first the announced rotation, then the president's surprise at the actual XI — says more about the confusion around the team than about any clear plan from Allegri. And no one asks who built a squad that re-injures itself within minutes of every return from injury: the Alisson Santos case is the third in a month, and it is not just bad luck.
