Napoli-Roma will not sell out, with about 45,000 expected at the Maradona
Advance sales started fast, then slowed. Around 9,000 of the stadium's roughly 54,000 seats are set to stay empty for the 18:00 CET (17:00 UK, 12:00 ET) kick-off on Saturday 24 October.

Napoli's game against Roma will not be a full house. About 45,000 spectators are expected at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, which holds roughly 54,000. Advance ticket sales moved in two gears: a quick start, then a sharp slowdown.
The match is the one the club has tied to its second assessment of coach Allegri. Roma are third on 17 points, seven more than Napoli's 10. Napoli are tenth, nine points off the top, after a 4-3 win over Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League and a 1-0 league defeat at Venezia. With the table as it is, a game of this size has not filled the ground.

We cannot say how much confidence has drained from those who would have bought a ticket. We do not have the numbers and will not pretend otherwise. We do know the Curva B (the hardcore end behind the goal) has asked everyone to wear the azzurri shirt, and that the turnstiles open at 15:30 CET. The rest will be settled on the pitch.
