Napoli's academy runs coaching courses inside Secondigliano prison
From Wednesday 30 September, Youth Sector coaches are delivering training sessions in the Casa Circondariale "Pasquale Mandato", working with Twinning Project ETS and backed by Enel Cuore.
Napoli have taken their Youth Sector inside the walls of Secondigliano prison. From Wednesday 30 September, coaches from the club's academy are running training courses inside the Casa Circondariale "Pasquale Mandato" (a prison in Naples), in partnership with Twinning Project ETS and with support from Enel Cuore.
Twinning Project was founded in the UK in 2018 and already works with several professional clubs on the social reintegration of prisoners through football. Napoli's academy coaches received specific training in the methodology before starting the sessions, which combine work on the pitch with modules on communication, collaboration, leadership and problem-solving. The Campania regional ombudsman for prisoners' rights is also involved, to safeguard participants.

The initiative extends the club's reach beyond the pitch at a difficult time for the team, with results and standings under pressure and supporters unhappy. A project like this, though, is worth judging on a different scale entirely — far from the points and results of Sunday's game.
