Napoli's lead lasts 28 minutes at Fiorentina
Gilmour's early strike put Napoli ahead, but Jiménez levelled just five minutes into the second half, and Allegri's substitutions couldn't find a way back.
Napoli's lead at the Franchi lasted 28 minutes. Gilmour put them ahead in the 23rd minute, finishing an assist from Politano; by the 51st minute, just five minutes into the second half, Jiménez had already cancelled it out. The problem wasn't going ahead - it was failing to hold that lead for more than half an hour.
Fiorentina's response came right after the break. Valdepeñas replaced Viery in the 46th minute, and five minutes later Ndour set up Jiménez for the equaliser. Napoli, by contrast, waited until the 58th minute for their first substitution: by the time Neres and Lucca came on, the score had already been level for seven minutes.

From there, Allegri's side tried to find a way back through further changes - Favasuli in the 73rd minute, Anguissa as late as the 90th - but neither produced a second goal. After Jiménez's equaliser, the scoreline didn't move again before the final whistle.
It's the kind of result that feeds the debate around Allegri: Napoli deserved their lead, but in the second half they found neither the answers to protect it nor the substitutions to win it back in time.
