Napoli split on contract renewals and a McTominay mystery
With eight days to go until Frosinone, Friday's papers agree on who is close to a new deal but tell two different stories about one midfielder.

Il Mattino reports that Marianucci and Rrahmani have both agreed renewals, while the Meret and Lobotka cases remain open — though Lobotka's is easier to manage thanks to a clause already written into his existing deal.
Tuttosport also covers Lobotka, reporting that Juventus are looking at the list of players running down their contracts and see the midfielder, a favourite of Spalletti's during his Napoli spell, as an appealing option. The paper adds that 'there is a detail in ADL's favour' that complicates Juventus's plans.

Corriere dello Sport focuses on De Bruyne: his contract, signed in 2025, includes an option for a one-year extension to 2028, but whether it gets exercised is 'still all to be written'.
On the pitch, Corriere dello Sport reports that Allegri expects to have Meret, Marianucci and Spinazzola back for Frosinone, with 'clear progress' in their recovery, while Anguissa and Alisson still need closer monitoring.
On McTominay, the papers disagree. Repubblica and Il Mattino focus on his recovery in time for the Maradona game — the latter calling him 'a quality ace up the sleeve' for Allegri — while TuttoMercatoWeb reports he could leave as early as June, with the club already lining up the capital gain on the sale. Two opposite versions of the same player, on the same day.
Our take
Friday's news shows a Napoli busy tidying up paperwork while the team sits second-from-bottom of its own stated ambitions: ninth place, seven points, and a mood among supporters that has stayed heavy after the banners of recent weeks. The McTominay contradiction is the most interesting thread of the day, but neither version explains why a midfielder who scored 27 goals in two seasons is already, in October, a subject of speculation rather than certainty. The renewals are a legitimate story, but there is still no one writing, today, about the protests against De Laurentiis and what the club intends to do to answer them on the pitch, not just in contracts.
