Napoli to meet Meret's agent before year-end on renewal or exit

Alex Meret is among the Napoli players whose contract expires in June 2027. Before the end of the year, the club will meet the goalkeeper's agent, Federico Pastorello, aiming to set a course for the future — renewal or a parting of ways.

The dossier opens with Meret still sidelined. He has been out since 9 September with the injury picked up in the home defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League, has not yet recovered, and his condition will need assessing ahead of the Frosinone game on 10 October. In the meantime, Vanja Milinković-Savić started in goal in the 1-1 draw in Florence on Sunday 20 September.

This is where the contract question overlaps with the pecking order: a goalkeeper waiting to return, while his alternative has already delivered in the league, is not the strongest position from which to negotiate.
