Napoli turned down €6m bid for Rao before loaning him to Pisa

The club rejected the offer for the winger in the transfer window that closed on Tuesday 1 September, choosing instead to let him develop on loan in Serie B.

Napoli rejected a €6m bid for Emanuele Rao, the 2006-born winger, in the transfer window that closed on Tuesday 1 September. The club chose to keep hold of his contract and let him develop elsewhere: since the summer he has been on loan at Pisa, on a straight loan deal worth around €1m with no option to buy, running until June 2027.

Rao remains tied to Napoli on a contract until 2030, a deadline that lets the club take its time with his development and consider bringing him back into the squad once he has more experience. Right-footed, and equally comfortable on the left flank or as an attacking midfielder, he has 4 caps and a goal for the Under-20 national team. His Transfermarkt valuation is set at exactly €6m, the same figure Napoli turned down in the summer — a sign of how highly the club rates the 2006-born winger as a prospect to develop rather than cash in on.
