Napoli won't renew De Bruyne, three MLS clubs eye free transfer
The Belgian's contract runs to 30 June 2027 and talks over an extension have stalled, with San Diego FC, Inter Miami and Chicago Fire all ready to move for him on a free.

Kevin De Bruyne's contract expires on 30 June 2027, and Napoli have reportedly decided not to renew it. Talks over an extension have stalled, and the Belgian midfielder is set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, able to sign for any club without a fee changing hands.
Three Major League Soccer clubs are already working on a move: newly founded San Diego FC, David Beckham's Inter Miami and Chicago Fire, all keen to add De Bruyne to their squad. No official offer has come in yet.

Losing him for nothing would be another hole in a transfer window that already closed around €47.5m in the red — and De Bruyne is no bit-part player. He arrives off the international break having scored twice for Belgium, one of the few midfielders Allegri can count on without reservation. The situation echoes Anguissa's, also out of contract in 2027 and expected to leave in January, leaving Napoli at risk of losing two midfield pieces within a year without a euro in return.
