Pedro has announced his retirement from playing football. His last club was Lazio, which he left at the end of last season. In Naples, fans are still singing the chant dedicated to him, set to Raffaella Carrà's well-known song, "Pedro Pedro Pè".

The bond with Napoli's support comes from a single goal: his decisive strike in Lazio's win over Inter in May 2025, the result that handed Antonio Conte's Napoli the fourth scudetto (the Italian league title). Since then, Pedro has become an idol for Napoli fans too, with figurines and merchandise made in his honour.

The Spaniard's career speaks for itself: European and world champion with Spain in 2008 and 2010, 26 trophies won between Barcelona, Chelsea and the national team, including three Champions Leagues, and more than 200 goals scored in total. In Italy, he wore the shirts of Roma first, then Lazio.

The moment to take a step forward and start a new stage in my life. I leave proud to have lived my dream, and grateful to everyone who stood by me to make it happen. Thank you, football, for making me so happy.
