Pedro retires, but Napoli will remember one goal forever
The Lazio forward's finish in May 2025 settled Inter's game, not Napoli's, yet it handed Antonio Conte's side the club's fourth Scudetto from somewhere else entirely.

Napoli's fourth Scudetto was not won at the Maradona. It was sealed on a May evening in 2025, when Lazio beat Inter — a result that handed the title, mathematically, to Antonio Conte's Napoli, who were playing elsewhere that same round.
The decisive goal, the one that fixed the scoreline in Lazio's favour, came from Pedro. A Lazio forward, with a single goal, decided the fate of a title race he was not playing for or against — yet on that Sunday in May he became the name forever tied to Napoli's fourth Scudetto.

That title came at the end of a two-year spell in which Conte had already brought the Supercoppa Italiana (Italy's Super Cup) to Napoli. For the team and the city, winning it through another match rather than on their own pitch made the celebration even more intense: supporters cheered a scoreboard, not a home game.
Pedro announced his retirement in October 2026, with Lazio as the final club of his career. For that goal in May 2025, Napoli's supporters adopted him in their own way, singing a chant for him to the tune of Raffaella Carrà's song.

A former opponent became, for one night and forever in Napoli's memory, the man who settled a title race.
Football rarely offers stories like this: a goal scored in another shirt, in another stadium, that ends up carved into the history of supporters who only watched that match on television, waiting for a final whistle far from Naples.
