Raimondo leaves Under-21 camp, a doubt for Frosinone's trip to Maradona

Silvio Baldini's Italy Under-21 staff have ruled the Frosinone striker, owned by Bologna, unavailable for the side's last two Euro qualifiers. Napoli host Frosinone at the Maradona in twelve days, on Saturday 10 October.

Antonio Raimondo has left the Italy Under-21 camp. The Italian federation confirmed the news: Silvio Baldini's squad fly to Yerevan on Wednesday 30 September to face Armenia on Thursday 1 October at 18:30 CET, live on Rai 2, in the second-last round of qualifying for the Under-21 Euros in Albania and Serbia.

Raimondo has been ruled unavailable for the upcoming games. He will also miss the afternoon training session at 17:00, when the rest of the group return to the pitch after a morning in the gym.

Raimondo plays for Frosinone but is owned by Bologna. He is the first-choice striker for the side coached by Alvini and one of the standout performers of the season so far: four goals, the same tally as Lautaro Martinez and Varela, with only Malen ahead of him among the division's top scorers.

The early return from international duty raises a doubt over Napoli-Frosinone, set for 20:45 CET on Saturday 10 October at the Maradona in round six of Serie A. Napoli sit ninth with seven points from five games, and see this as the game to turn around a disappointing start.

Twelve days remain until the game at the Maradona, and unavailability with the Under-21s is not the same as a confirmed absence. Raimondo's condition will be assessed at Frosinone in the coming days, once he is back from Baldini's group.
