Villarreal boss refuses to tip hand ahead of Napoli clash
Iñigo Pérez confirmed his back-five approach cost Villarreal at the Bernabéu, but will not say how he plans to line up against Napoli.
Villarreal go into Tuesday's game against Napoli on the back of a defeat away to José Mourinho's Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. Asked about his tactical approach in that game, head coach Iñigo Pérez confirmed: "I played with a back five, with Foyth as an added sixth man: you've described it perfectly."
On Napoli, though, he shut the conversation down straight away: "Now a full month of fixtures awaits us and I'm already preparing for the next game — I'd rather not reveal details or tactical hints to Napoli, who we'll face in a couple of days. I study the press conferences of other coaches myself to pick up on every little nuance."
