De Bruyne scores twice for Belgium but picks up costly booking
Kevin De Bruyne's double sank Turkey 3-0, but a yellow card for time-wasting in the 80th minute rules him out of Belgium's next Nations League game against France.

Kevin De Bruyne scored twice as Belgium beat Turkey 3-0, but he was booked in the 80th minute for time-wasting and will now miss Belgium's next Nations League match against France through suspension.
Missing that game could mean an early return to Castel Volturno, Napoli's training ground. It is up to the Belgium coaching staff to decide whether to release him early or keep him with the squad regardless.

Extra days at Castel Volturno would let De Bruyne shake off international duty early and get a head start on preparing for Napoli's match against Frosinone at the Maradona on Saturday 10 October. Head coach Allegri's midfield already has plenty of question marks: McTominay awaits a fitness check on 6 October following heart surgery, and Anguissa remains a doubt with a physical problem. Napoli, coming off a draw in Florence, cannot afford further absences in midfield.
