Napoli lose ten players to international duty
From Di Lorenzo to Milinkovic-Savic, via De Bruyne and Højlund, ten players leave Castel Volturno just as the squad needs uninterrupted work together.
Ten Napoli players have left Castel Volturno (the training ground) to join their national teams. The Italy contingent is the largest: Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Antonio Vergara play Nations League fixtures against Belgium, Turkey and France, while Costantino Favasuli joins the Under-21s for European qualifiers against Armenia and Poland. The rest of the list: Kevin De Bruyne with Belgium, Billy Gilmour with Scotland, Stanislav Lobotka with Slovakia, Rasmus Højlund with Denmark, Noa Lang with the Netherlands and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic with Serbia.
Lang and Milinkovic-Savic will even face each other, in the Netherlands' game against Serbia on 27 September. The longest trip belongs to Mathías Olivera, who joins Uruguay for an intercontinental tour of Asia; the full-back will only rejoin the group close to Napoli's home game against Frosinone on 10 October at 20:45 CET (19:45 UK), leaving head coach Allegri to manage his minutes on his return.

The squad thins out just as Napoli — ninth on 7 points after five games — need uninterrupted work on their team mechanisms before the league resumes at the Maradona.
