Napoli said no to €10m Sebastiano Esposito loan deal
The club turned down a loan-with-option offer for the senior Italy international last summer, a call tied to the spending review ordered in August.

Napoli rejected an offer for Sebastiano Esposito, a senior Italy international, in the window that closed on 1 September. The deal on the table was a loan with an option to buy fixed at €10m. The club said no.
The decision ties back to the spending review ordered for the summer. The window closed with a net spend of around €47.5m, driven mainly by the €35m paid to Udinese for Lucca and only partly offset by the €26m received for Gutiérrez's move to Bayer Leverkusen. There was no room left for another forward.

It reads differently now. Napoli are eighth with 10 points from six games and just 10 goals scored, with the attack going missing in both the 0-1 defeat to Arsenal and the 3-1 loss at Villarreal. Turning down a senior international on terms that were not prohibitive looks heavier now than it did in August.
The window reopens on 2 January. Until then, Napoli have only the forwards already in the squad.
