Politano and Spinazzola set to miss Mancini's Italy squad
Roberto Mancini's first Nations League call-ups since returning as Italy coach could leave out the Napoli vice-captain and his teammate.

Early word on Roberto Mancini's squad for the Nations League games that open his second spell as Italy coach suggests two Napoli players could be left out: vice-captain Matteo Politano and full-back Leonardo Spinazzola, seen as a player whose international career is winding down.
On the left side, Mancini has options: Federico Dimarco, Riccardo Calafiori and Destiny Udogie are all in the picture, while Andrea Cambiaso would start further back in the pecking order after recently returning from injury. Spinazzola, born in 1993, would be left to focus solely on his club commitments with Napoli.

If confirmed, the omission would land two days before the trip to Florence, where Politano is favourite over Favasuli for a starting place in Massimiliano Allegri's side. Mancini's official list will show whether the Napoli vice-captain, a regular starter in Serie A, misses out on Italy duty too.
