Allegri demands higher press from Napoli in training
At Thursday's session the head coach was heard shouting instructions across Castel Volturno (the training ground), demanding intensity ahead of the trip to Fiorentina. It marks a shift from the low block he had accustomed Napoli to.
At the morning session at Castel Volturno, Massimiliano Allegri was fired up. His shouts carried across the pitch during tactical work ahead of Fiorentina. "Nasty, nasty, nasty," he repeated to his players.
Allegri asked the team to push higher and press opponents high up the pitch, giving them no time to build from the back — a departure from the low block he had accustomed Napoli to, in favour of aggressive pressing. Anguissa, carrying an adductor strain, did individual work away from the group in the same session.

The change comes after Napoli scored just 6 goals in their first 5 games of the season. Asking a team that has often sat deep to push up and be aggressive is a gamble that will be tested on Sunday 20 September at the Franchi, against a Fiorentina side used to sitting compact.
