Giordano: Napoli has wasted millions with no resale profit

Antonio Giordano, a journalist with La Gazzetta dello Sport, spoke on Monday 21 September on Radio Napoli Centrale's "Sempre Con Te" programme about Napoli's start under head coach Allegri, stuck on 7 points after 5 Serie A games.

Giordano said the bigger problem is off the pitch. "Credo che sia il momento più difficile dal punto di vista societario," he said, adding he could not recall a similar period, not even after the title-winning season, because Napoli find themselves in a moment of economic weakness.

He pointed to recent transfer windows: money spent on players who have not delivered and whom the club has failed to resell for a profit, from Lindstrom to Cajuste, and on to Lucca, Lang and Beukema, all falling short of expectations so far.
