Vergara is Napoli's only player in Mancini's 31-man Italy squad
Meret and Politano miss out for the Nations League games against France and Belgium, and Di Lorenzo is out with an adductor problem.
Vergara is the only Napoli player in Roberto Mancini's Italy squad for the Nations League matches against France and Belgium. The Italy coach has called up 31 players to Coverciano (the national team's training centre). Meret and Politano were left out. Di Lorenzo stays at home with the adductor strain he picked up at the Allianz Stadium.
Vergara had only just come back from a soleus problem when he started in Porto. He was booked in the first minute and came off in the 78th, along with Anguissa, with Napoli 2-1 down. The side then conceded two more.

One Napoli player in the Italy squad says a lot about the season. This squad was built to finish near the top. Instead, after 10 rounds, it sits eighth on 14 points, nine off fourth place. The vice-captain was left out. Leaders Lazio come to the Maradona on Sunday 8 November at 12:30 CET (11:30 UK, 06:30 ET). They have 28 points, twice Napoli's total.
