Napoli stand by Allegri after Porto defeat and make no contact with Pioli
Aurelio De Laurentiis has not approached any other coach since the 4-1 at the Dragão. Leaders Lazio come to the Maradona on Sunday 8 November.
Napoli are not talking to Stefano Pioli and are not planning to change coach after the 4-1 defeat in Porto. As of Thursday 5 November, Massimiliano Allegri's job is not under threat, and Aurelio De Laurentiis has not contacted any other coach.
The president held talks with Pioli in the past, but nothing is happening now. The club has never spoken to Palladino, the other name in circulation. Both are out of work and would happily come to Napoli, but the club has not approached either of them.

The decision fits with the president's supportive phone call after the game in Turin, and with Allegri's three-year deal worth €6m a year net until 2029, with no release clauses. But backing the coach does not fix the problems. At the Allianz Stadium and at the Dragão, the team fell apart in the same way after half-time. Napoli are eighth on 14 points, nine behind fourth place, the target Allegri set himself. The fans want a new coach. The board has answered with its backing. Results will decide who is right, not denials.
Lazio arrive at the Maradona on Sunday 8 November at 12:30 CET (11:30 UK, 06:30 ET) top of the table, with twice Napoli's points. The president has chosen to keep his coach. From Sunday, that choice will be judged on results.
