Milan beat Inter 3-1 to give Napoli and Juventus a chance to close the gap
Napoli and Juventus both start on 14 points at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday 1 November. The winner climbs to 17, eight points behind Inter and four behind fourth-placed Milan.

Milan won the derby at San Siro 3-1 on Saturday 31 October. Amorim's side went ahead in the opening minutes through Pulisic, and Rabiot made it 2-0 on 10 minutes. Bastoni pulled one back for Chivu's Inter on 22 minutes, and Moreira settled it with a free kick on 43. Inter, the Italian champions, stay on 25 points level with Lazio. Milan move up to 21 and fourth.
For Napoli, the sums are simple. Juventus and Napoli kick off at 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 14:45 ET) on Sunday 1 November, both on 14 points. The winner goes to 17. That is eight behind Inter and four behind Milan, who hold the fourth place Allegri has set as the target. Lazio also play Cagliari on Sunday, and a win would take them to 28.

Hoping for others to slip up is what a chasing side does, not a leading one. Napoli are seventh after nine games. Against Inter and Roma they have taken one point, from the 3-2 in Milan and the 3-3 at the Maradona. Napoli are without seven players on Sunday and Landucci will be on the bench. Beating Juventus is the only way to fix the table.
