Napoli Legends start working with the club on a possible centenary match
Alessandro Picardi spoke after the former players' solidarity walk in Pozzuoli on Tuesday 27 October, held for families who lost their homes in the earthquake of 31 July.

Napoli and the Napoli Legends, a team of former players, are looking at playing a match to mark the club's centenary. Alessandro Picardi, who led the group's visit to Pozzuoli on Tuesday 27 October, said: "A collaboration with SSC Napoli has started, and we are working out whether there could be a chance to play a match for the Centenary. If they want to do it, we are available."
The walk was called "Non vi lasciamo soli" ("We won't leave you alone"). It brought a large number of former Napoli players to families left homeless by the earthquake of 31 July. It was not the first time the group has helped. "Just as we did at the end of May with a charity match at the Maradona stadium, we are taking the field with 'Napoli Legends per Pozzuoli' to stand beside those who have lost their homes. The lads chose to spend the day here," Picardi said.

The news came on the day Napoli play Monza at the U-Power Stadium, on Wednesday 28 October at 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 15:45 ET). Napoli are 10th with 11 points. Landucci is on the bench in place of Allegri, who is suspended. A game with the old guard would be a fine way to mark 100 years of the club. The current squad, though, still has to do the centenary justice in the table.
