Napoli without 11 players for Lazio as Neres misses out
Højlund should be back for Sunday's visit of the league leaders, but Napoli will have no fit full-backs, three centre-backs missing, and no Lobotka or De Bruyne. Milinković-Savić is a doubt.
Napoli will be without 11 players for the visit of Lazio to the Maradona on Sunday 8 November, kick-off 12:30 CET (11:30 UK, 06:30 ET). The absentees are Buongiorno, Badiashile, Favasuli, Di Lorenzo, Spinazzola, Olivera, Lobotka, De Bruyne, Neres, Alisson Santos and Marianucci, who is suspended after his sending-off in Turin. Milinković-Savić is a doubt. Højlund, who missed the Juventus game with flu, should be available.
Neres is the new name on the list. He had hoped to return against Lazio after a tear to the semimembranosus in his right thigh, but he will miss out. The other absences were already known. Taken together, they are striking: all four full-backs and three centre-backs are out, and the midfield is without both Lobotka and De Bruyne, who came off at half-time in Turin with a sprained ankle.

Allegri returns to the bench after a two-match ban to face the leaders. Lazio have 28 points, double Napoli's 14, and fourth place is nine points away. An injury crisis this long is not bad luck or one bad week. The people who prepare the team and the people who built the squad will have to answer for this too. First, though, Napoli play Porto at the Dragão on Wednesday 4 November at 21:00 CET (20:00 UK, 15:00 ET).
