Allegri returns to Porto, where he was the last Italian coach to win
Francesco Farioli's Porto are perfect in the league and pointless in Europe. Three days after the 2-0 in Turin, the experience Napoli hired Allegri for has to prove it still counts.

In February 2017 Massimiliano Allegri won 2-0 at the Dragão (Porto's stadium) with Juventus. Both goals came from substitutes, Pjaca and Dani Alves. No Italian coach has won there since.
He goes back at 21:00 CET (20:00 UK, 15:00 ET) on Wednesday 4 November with a Napoli squad stretched thin. In the other dugout is Francesco Farioli. His name comes up whenever the talk turns to young coaches overlooked by Italy's big clubs, which prefer the usual names.

Porto have two faces. They have won all 10 league games, and 12 out of 12 including the domestic cups. In the Champions League they have lost to Betis, PSV and Manchester City and are still on zero points. Farioli speaks of having to "climb the mountain" and names Napoli as the first step. Napoli have 3 points, taken against Bodø/Glimt.
Allegri was chosen in the summer precisely for his record. After Turin, that record has become the case against him. The 2017 win counts for nothing on Wednesday. What matters is whether one of the usual names can still find answers with a squad in pieces.
