Beukema's 86% pass rate is a stat Allegri hasn't used yet
The Dutch defender is still on zero league minutes this season, but his passing numbers from Bologna suggest he could offer something Napoli currently lack.
Sam Beukema wants a way into this Napoli side. Only fit again in the last few weeks, the Dutch centre-back has not played a single minute in five league games, either from the start or off the bench. The long international break gives him a chance to force his way back into contention.
The numbers explain why Allegri might be tempted. In the 2025/26 season with Bologna, Beukema completed 86% of his passes in the opposition half, higher than Napoli's own average last season and this one. His overall completion rate was 91%, 83% in the final third, with 21.53 successful forward passes per game — the best figure among all Serie A defenders and second overall in the league.

Those numbers came in a different shirt, for a different team, and should be read as a clue rather than a guarantee. But in a Napoli side that struggles to build from the back and scores as little as it concedes (7-6 across five games), a centre-back able to play forward this often and this precisely is a card Allegri has not even tried playing yet.
