Meret and Alisson Santos underwent scans at the Pineta Grande Hospital after picking up muscle problems on Wednesday against Arsenal. The verdict: a low-grade tear of the long adductor in Meret's left thigh, and a mid-grade tear of the biceps femoris, also on the left, for Alisson.
Meret went off in the first half of the 0-1 Champions League defeat, and head coach Allegri had left his availability for Sunday's game with Bologna in doubt ("We're assessing Meret. Hopefully it's nothing"). Even a low-grade tear is no guarantee he will be fit two days out from the match. Alisson had already been ruled out "for a while" by the coach, and the mid-grade diagnosis confirms a longer lay-off, with his return not expected before the international break.

Two more names on an already long injury list for a side that on Sunday at 18:00 CET at the Maradona are trying to stop a run of three straight defeats — Como, Inter, Arsenal — and move off 12th place, on 3 points after three rounds.
