Napoli to receive Coni's Collare d'Oro for its centenary
Italian sport's highest honour is presented in Rome on Monday 12 October, marking 100 years since the club's foundation.

Napoli will receive the Collare d'Oro al Merito Sportivo, the Italian Olympic Committee's (Coni) highest honour, on Monday 12 October at 11:00 in Rome. The ceremony takes place at the Centro di preparazione olimpica Giulio Onesti in Acqua Acetosa, broadcast live on Rai2, and marks the club's hundred years since its foundation on 25 August 1926.
Sport minister Andrea Abodi, Coni president Luciano Buonfiglio and Italian Paralympic Committee president Marco Giunio De Sanctis will be on stage. Fiorentina, founded in the same year, are among the eight clubs honoured, alongside smaller organisations such as Sci Corno alle Scale and Canottieri Sabazia. Jannik Sinner and swimmer Sara Curtis, also honoured that day, will not attend.

The award lands in the centenary season but amid a tense club mood: after banners against De Laurentiis and the rejection of a bid of over €2bn for the club, this is an institutional recognition of history, not a comment on recent weeks.
