Pugliese set for first Serie A bench call after Meret injury
Meret's adductor injury has pushed the Primavera goalkeeper into contention for a first place among the substitutes against Bologna.

Claudio Pugliese, the Primavera goalkeeper born in 2008, is set for his first Serie A squad call-up. With Meret sidelined by a low-grade adductor longus strain picked up against Arsenal, head coach Allegri is expected to name Pugliese on the bench behind Milinković-Savić — now first choice after his half-time introduction in the Champions League match — and second-choice keeper Nikita Contini.
Pugliese, from Scampia, impressed during Allegri's two pre-season training camps and had already trained with the first team for the Italian Super Cup. Sunday would be his first involvement in a league matchday squad.

The opportunity comes out of necessity. Napoli go into Sunday 13 September's game against Bologna at the Maradona, kicking off at 18:00 CET (17:00 UK, 12:00 ET), on the back of three straight defeats and a stretched treatment room — a crisis that has opened a door for an academy player that would otherwise have stayed shut for a while longer.
