Spalletti locks Juventus away until Sunday's game against Napoli

After a 2-0 defeat in Genoa, the squad will be kept together at the Continassa from Friday evening. Before that, chief executive Carnevali gave the players a very blunt dressing-down.

Juventus will come into Sunday's game against Napoli after three days shut away together. After the 2-0 defeat in Genoa, Luciano Spalletti decided to keep the squad at the Continassa, the club's training centre, from the evening of Friday 30 October until the match. The board has backed the decision. Spalletti keeps his job, but there is tension in Turin.

Before the lockdown, Carnevali, Juventus's chief executive and general manager, confronted the dressing room. He reminded the players of what they owe the owners, the club and the supporters, and said he still had faith in the squad. He also told them, very firmly, that the current situation is not acceptable. He wants an immediate reaction.

That is not good news for us. At the Allianz Stadium on Sunday 1 November, 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 14:45 ET), we will face a side level with us on 14 points and under pressure to respond straight away. Napoli arrive unbeaten in three, with Landucci still on the bench in place of Allegri. Lobotka is a doubt, and our defence allowed twelve shots at Monza.
