Badiashile aims for December return after another muscle injury
The number 5 has a rectus femoris tear and his recovery has only just begun. December is the target, but nobody can give a firm date.

Badiashile is injured again. This time it is a muscle problem, a tear in the rectus femoris, and his recovery programme points to December for his return. The process has only just started. He may be able to skip some stages, but there is still no firm date for when he will be available again.
Napoli travel to face Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday 1 November at 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 14:45 ET). Badiashile, Neres and Spinazzola will all miss the game. Lobotka and Rrahmani are doubts. Buongiorno, who had surgery on his meniscus, is expected back in January. If Rrahmani does not recover, Marianucci starts alongside Marín, and Beukema is the only defensive option on the bench.

Badiashile joined on loan from Chelsea to give the defence more depth. Instead he is back on the injury list, along with three of the club's other nine defenders. This is not just bad luck. The back line depends on the same three or four players, and that is a question for the people who built the squad. Juventus have 14 points, the same as Napoli, and in Turin those few names will have to be enough.
