Ekhator returns to Juventus training as Napoli's defence is stretched

The striker, born in 2006, completed a full session after his muscle problems. Against a patched-up Napoli back line, he could be Spalletti's option off the bench.

Ekhator is back in training with the Juventus squad. The striker, born in 2006, completed the whole session with his teammates. Muscle problems had held up his settling-in at the club. His return will be managed carefully, but it is the first step towards a place in the squad for Juventus-Napoli at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday 1 November, kick-off 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 14:45 ET).

Spalletti has kept his squad together at the Continassa (Juventus's training base) since the 2-0 in Genoa, and Ekhator gives him an option he has been missing. Injuries have left him very few choices in attack. Juventus have scored 11 goals so far and are struggling to create clear chances, so Kolo Muani and Woltemade need to raise their level. Ekhator is more of a substitute than a starter: a fresh pair of legs with the pace to run in behind.

That is exactly what worries us. Our defence allowed 12 shots at Monza. Rrahmani is a doubt after a blow to the sternum, and Buongiorno, Badiashile and Spinazzola are all out. If Rrahmani does not recover, Marianucci, who has not started a game this season, partners Marín, with only Beukema left on the bench. A fresh striker running at a tired, makeshift back line is the situation Landucci has to stop from happening.
