McTominay returns to training as Napoli's injury list clears
The international break brings back several players missing for weeks, but Napoli sit ninth after five games and the problems run deeper than numbers on the bench.

McTominay is back at Castel Volturno (the training ground) on Monday 21 September, after a cardiac ablation procedure in Manchester on 9 September. Meret is expected fit for Napoli vs Frosinone on 10 October, with Neres, Beukema and Badiashile also improving. Spinazzola, who started away at Fiorentina despite a muscle issue picked up the day before, now has time to recover without a game every three days.
Napoli go into the break ninth in Serie A on 7 points from 5 games. Anguissa is the priority, ruled out by another physical problem picked up at the end of the Fiorentina match.

A fuller squad eases the rotation but does not fix what has gone wrong: build-up play has struggled, and the press has not held for 90 minutes. The fixtures resume on 10 October, when it becomes clear whether the returns have changed anything.
