Napoli travel to Monza and back on matchday ahead of Juventus and Porto

No overnight stay in Brianza (the area around Monza): Allegri's side leave on the day of the game and return straight after. Juventus and Porto follow, with just two days between them.

Napoli will not spend the night in Brianza before their game at Monza. The squad leaves Castel Volturno (the training ground) on Wednesday 28 October, the day of the 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 15:45 ET) kick-off at the U-Power Stadium, and comes back the same day.

Several big clubs do the same, and Allegri has chosen it before. It lets him get the most out of the work at Castel Volturno before a crowded week: Juventus away on Sunday 1 November, the trip from Turin to Porto on Monday 2 November and Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday 4 November. Twelve Napoli players have already been through the treatment room this season, so planning travel to limit fatigue makes sense.

But logistics are not this Napoli's problem. They arrive in Monza tenth with 11 points after eight games, their worst start since 2009-10. They have conceded 7 goals in their last 3 matches. Badiashile and Spinazzola are out, and Landucci will be on the bench because Allegri is suspended. Juric's Monza are 15th with 7 points. The same-day round trip is understandable. No travel plan could excuse dropping more points.
