Nearly 300 ultras urge Napoli to 'show some balls' before Lazio
Supporters from both ends of the Maradona gathered outside the squad's hotel in Pozzuoli on Sunday morning. The retreat ended in a 1-1 home draw with the league leaders.
Nearly 300 ultras from both Curvas (the hardcore ends behind the goals) gathered outside the Gli Dei hotel in Pozzuoli on the morning of Sunday 8 November. Napoli-Lazio was due to kick off a few hours later, at 12:30 CET. The squad had been shut away at the hotel since Friday evening. Chants of support alternated with blunter demands: the players were told to “show some balls” against the league leaders. There was no trouble.
The retreat followed the 2-0 in Turin against Juventus and the 4-1 in Porto, with De Laurentiis furious at the way the season is going. On Saturday 7 November the president also had Allegri's press conference cancelled.

At the Maradona it finished 1-1, with a goal from Frattesi on 28 minutes and an own goal by Pedraza on 48. Stopping the leaders does not change the picture. Napoli are tenth on 15 points, 8 behind fourth place, the stated target, and 14 behind Lazio. The fans outside that hotel asked for character. The days in seclusion produced a home draw.
The next test is Napoli-Torino at the Maradona on Saturday 21 November, at 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 14:45 ET).
