Only McTominay and De Bruyne of Manna's top five signings face Juventus
In an interview recorded in September, the sporting director ranked his own transfers and admitted Kvaratskhelia was never replaced. Read again now, three of his top five are injured.

Giovanni Manna calls Scott McTominay "the masterstroke of my professional life". The Napoli sporting director put the Scot first when he ranked his signings in September, in the same interview in which he spoke about the end of a cycle. Buongiorno came second: "He was the first player I signed at Napoli, he has an important emotional value." Spinazzola was third. Kevin De Bruyne was only fourth, because Manna weighed expectations, the work it took to sign him and how he has performed. Neres was fifth, Lukaku sixth, and Badiashile stays "at the bottom".
The list reads differently now. Buongiorno has had knee surgery on his meniscus and is expected back in January. Spinazzola has a hamstring tear, Neres misses Juventus and Porto, and Badiashile is out with a thigh injury. Of Manna's top five, only McTominay and De Bruyne will be at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday 1 November at 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 14:45 ET). De Bruyne lasted 67 minutes of the 1-4 win at Monza.

Manna also admitted something about Kvaratskhelia, sold to PSG in January 2025: "We didn't manage to replace him." Milan also moved faster for Gila. The man who builds the squad answers for it, and right now this squad depends on two players. The next chance to fix that comes when the window opens on 2 January.
